Before leaving South Shields, Mr Monkey followed some signs to Arbeia Roman fort. First he found that they'd built a lifesize model gatehouse (better than the fort in Manchester). And when he got to the top of the gatehouse, he noticed some other buildings at one end of the fort. So he went to investigate.
