Mr Monkey stopped off at Washington Old Hall, to see the ancestral home of George Washington. it turned out that the branch of the Washington family that the famous George Washington came from actually went to live in Lancashire sometime before 1399, so it's not quite his family home. But the Washington family did get their name from Washington village, and the Old Hall has got an American flag and a letter from Jimmy Carter, and Mr Monkey enjoyed his visit.
