Mr Monkey took a last look at the illuminated promenade, then scampered inland a block or two. Knowing that Miss Carol's favourite place to eat in Blackpool is A.J.'s on Topping Street, Mr Monkey had taken the precaution of booking a table there. When his humans had enjoyed their meal, Mr Monkey scampered back down to the promenade to check that the Illuminations were over for the night and that only the ordinary streetlights were left on. As usual, he was right.
