Mr Monkey visits the John Rylands Library, 18th April

"He's got a pretty impressive, if oddly placed, beard"

After he'd trotted about 130 feet (80 metres) Mr Monkey arrived at the west end of the Historic Reading Room. He looked back along the room, and up at the roof, more than 40 feet above him. Then he examined the statue of John Rylands (another one by John Cassidy) standing in front of the apse. Above the statue some more stained glass by Kempe showed a mixture of Old Testament and Christian religious figures.
