Mr Monkey takes a Mancunian Canal Cruise, 13th October

"There used to be all sorts of warehousing around here, you know"

Mr Monkey carefully studied the wildlife gardens on the outer face of the lower lockgates as the L.S. Lowry left the lock and went into what used to be Pomona Dock No. 3. There were once five docks at Pomona, but Nos. 1,2, 4 and 5 have been filled in. Looking round, Mr Monkey quickly noticed that while Castlefield has been redeveloped, and the Salford docks have been redeveloped, the Pomona area between the two has been left to its own devices.
