Mr Monkey at The People's History Museum, 14th April

"It's meant to look like that, really"

Before going into the museum, Mr Monkey admired the COR-TEN steel cladding on the outside of the new building. This is the same sort of material that the Angel of the North is made of, and it's meant to look rusty. When he got inside it turned out his humans were mysteriously thirsty so he let them have a coffee in the Left Bank Cafe before they set off around the museum.

You can read about COR-TEN at the archINFORM International Architecture database website and about the Left Bank Cafe at the People's History Museum website.
