Mr Monkey admired the intricate pencil and watercolour drawings in Rachel Goodyear's Kicking Nests collection. He liked the way the mostly innocent looking pictures got creepy close up, showing that you can't always trust nature. Then he studied Slurped, portraits drawn on styrofoam cups by Richard Shields. These were part of the HONK collection by the Contents May Vary collective (Alice Bradshaw, Liz Murphy and Richard Shields). Earlier in the evening the collection had been on display in a white van outside Urbis, but Mr Monkey had been inside Urbis at the time.
You can read about the artists at the Rachel Goodyear website and the Contents May Vary website.
