Mr Monkey visits the Chelsea Physic Gardens, 29th April

"It's a nice and peaceful place to visit, you know"

Mr Monkey was careful not to fall into Fortune's Tank pond, even though the creatures in and on the water were interesting. The tank was installed by Robert Fortune who was Curator of the Garden from 1846 to 1848, between his first two plant hunting trips to China. Then Mr Monkey looked around the Dicotyledon section of the systematic order beds and, having looked all around the 4 acre site, scampered out into Swan Walk and went to Sloane Square to take the tube back to his hotel.

You can read about Robert Fortune at the PlantExplorers webiste and about Dicotyledons at Wikipedia.
