Mr Monkey visits Stephenson's Works, 13th December

"I suppose boiler making is so warm you don't need walls"

Crossing the corridor Mr Monkey went into the mezzanine room, which runs the whole length of the building. Here he examined displays about Stephenson's work on several continents and about the companies which used the premises after Stephenson & Co. moved out in 1904. Peering down from the mezzanine Mr Monkey could see the workshop in which the Stephensons built locomotive boilers. When it was the boiler department, it didn't have an outside wall.
