Mr Monkey sees The Art of the Poster at the London Transport Museum, 1st November

Some of the posters were more abstract, like Windsor Castle (Clive Gardiner, 1928). Sometimes people were offended by Underground posters; a newspaper campaign led to the withdrawal of Lord Mayor's Show (Edward Wadsworth, 1936) even though the papers didn't object to the theme of the Show itself, Defence and Rearmament.
