Mr Monkey at the Peak District Mining Museum, 11th October

"I bet not many people ran off with Roman lead pigs"

Mr Monkey found that the mining museum was in the Pavilion, built in 1910 as a replacement for a different Pavilion built in 1884. He scampered in and began to look around. The first thing he saw was a Roman lead pig (or ingot) weighing 25kg, which struck Mr Monkey as rather heavy.
