Mr Monkey trotted along the lower deck. He had a look at the issue room, to see where the crew were issued with their daily food. Then he went through to the rum room. At 12.30 every day half a pint of grog (2 parts water to 1 part rum) was issued to the mess cook representing each group of 18 sailors, and taken back to be shared on the main deck.
