As Mr Monkey crossed the Vltava by the Čhechův bridge he looked back at the Metronome, and up towards the castle. The driver explained that the Metronome was built for an exhibition in 1991 as a symbol of change, and has been there ever since. The plinth it's on was built to display the biggest statue of Stalin in the world, which was demolished in 1962 when Stalin stopped being popular.
