Mr Monkey went into the recreation of an interrogation room, possibly the scariest part of the museum. He studied a map showing security police sites and correction centres across Czechoslovakia, and saw that there were three interrogation offices in Prague, two run by the public security department and one by the secret police. Between 1948 and 1990 at least 257,864 citizens were sentenced for political crimes and 232 prisoners were sentenced to death (178 were actually executed).
