Mr Monkey looking up the old channel to the Avon

Mr Monkey looked out of the back window of the ferry to admire the colourful houses of Hotwells then peered down the channel from the Floating Harbour into the Bathurst Basin. There used to be a lock connecting the Bathurst Basin to the Avon, but it was filled in during the war, in case a bomb hit it and let all the water out of the harbour.
