Mr Monkey examined a display about rail-based postal services. He thought it was rather dark inside the 1883 West Coast Joint Stock Travelling Post Office, but it was an improvement on earlier versions which didn't even have seats for the sorting staff. Nowadays the sorting is all done before the mail is put aboard the train. Mr Monkey was interested in the underground train once used to take mail from Paddington to Whitechapel beneath the streets of London, but decided he wouldn't want to ride it. Not more than once, anyway.
You can read about the MailRail subterranean railway at the Subterranea Britannica website.
