"We're off, then"

The boat cast off and set off out of town. Soon Mr Monkey got a good view of St Mary's tower which was part of the wall of St Mary's Abbey, when there was an abbey. Then the boat took Mr Monkey under Scarborough Bridge. This was built in 1845 to take the railway to Scarborough and was the second bridge in York to cross the Ouse.
