Mr Monkey in York Minster, 25th February

"Very useful, your flying buttress"

Mr Monkey looking across York from the top of the south transept Mr Monkey looking at flying butresses above the nave

Mr Monkey looked across York from the walkway along the eaves of the south transept, then studied the flying buttress along the south wall of the nave. Without these flying buttresses, the Minster wouldn't have been able to have such tall, thin walls or such large windows. Not without falling over, anyway.
