Mr Monkey in Bruges, 16th September

"This is a pleasant place"

Mr Monkey looking at the Gunpowder Tower Mr Monkey looking across the Minnewater

Mr Monkey scurried along a path and found himself on a bridge overlooking the Minnewater. He had a quick look at the Gunpowder Tower, built in 1401 so that gunpowder could be made somewhere where accidents wouldn't damage anything really important. Mr Monkey looked across the Minnewater and spotted the lock house which controlled the water between the lake and the city canals in the days when the Minnewater was Bruges' harbour.
