Mr Monkey went into the kitchen, which was the heart of the house in the 1650's. He scampered around inspecting the replica food and the replica crockery on the kitchen tables. Mr Monkey was glad that there wasn't a real fire burning in the fireplace, as that would have probably made the whole room too hot, and would have stopped him looking at the fireback.
