Mr Monkey read all about the changes the club made to start making a profit, and then about the Haçienda becoming the centre of Manchester's ecstacy drug dancing youth culture. This led to the club closing down when it turned out some of the people selling illegal drugs were actually criminals, and not in a noble Robin Hood way.
