The front room on the ground floor was Dickens's dining room. Mr Monkey inspected a variety of things about or belonging to Charles Dickens, including his chain purse and a large sideboard. Mr Monkey was also rather taken by the glass roundel with a picture of Dickens on it. Mr Monkey suspected that it wasn't actually part of the window when Dickens lived here.
