Mr Monkey visits Seattle Central Library, 6th February

"I don't really have time to read an entire floor"

Mr Monkey started his visit by looking at George Tsutakawa's Fountain of Wisdom outside the 4th Avenue entrance to the library. Just inside the library he looked at the ornate maple floor made by Ann Hamilton. There's 556 lines of raised and reversed text in 11 different languages. Mr Monkey could have found out exactly what the floor said, but he was eager to explore the library.

You can read about the library at the Seattle Public Library website, about George Tsutakawa at the Washington Office of Research website and a bit about Ann Hamilton at Wikapedia.
