Mr Monkey at the Klondike Gold Rush Museum, 5th February

"It's a wheel of misfortune for most people, really"

Mr Monkey watching the wheel of fortune spin Mr Monkey finding that he's struck it rich

It's estimated that around 100,000 people set out for the Klondike, 40,000 of them got there, 20,000 actually prospected or dug for gold when they did get there, and only 300 made more than $15,000 in gold. And only 50 of that 300 kept their wealth long. To show these statistics graphically, the museum has a wheel of fortune to spin. Mr Monkey span the wheel and turned out to be a winner.
