Mr Monkey visits Lake Union Park, 5th February

"It'll be very attractive one day, I'm sure"

There's a continuing project to landscape the area around the Naval Reserve Building into a 12 acre park. Mr Monkey watched some construction work, then went into the Naval Reserve Building and examined a rather large model of HMS Vancouver, the sloop commanded by Captain George Vancouver in 1792-4 when he was busy being the first European (apart from the rest of his crew) to explore the Puget Sound.

You can read about Lake Union Park at the City of Seattle website, and there's a pdf with a plan of what they want the park to look like.
