In the Natural Settings gallery, Mr Monkey investigated the geography and geology of Washington State. He looked at a cross section of the state from northwest to southeast, examining the volcanic bits under the Cascade Mountains. Then he pressed buttons on the Washington Over Time display, which shows how seas have risen and fallen, and volcanoes have erupted, and people have built railroads and cities, to make Washington look how it does today.
