A few weeks after visiting the exhibition, Mr Monkey popped back to the Chinese Arts Centre to check that Karen Tam had finished her opium den. He found that she had, and that there were nice lamps and curtains and no shelves, buckets or hammers lying around. The ragtime music was still there, of course.
