Mr Monkey breakfasted in Covent Garden at a cafe called Boswell's, which was the Covent Garden branch of Valerie's last time he ate there. It's in the house, 8 Russell Street, where Boswell met Dr Samuel Johnson for the first time. After breakfast, he stopped for a moment to admire the old Covent Garden market buildings, designed by Charles Fowler in early 1830s. Scurrying along the Strand, Mr Monkey was sure that he'd seen more Routemasters after they'd been removed from normal service than he'd ever seen before.
