Mr Monkey looked around Horse Guards Parade, which has been used for royal tournaments and parades since 1541. He admired the elegant buildings, including the Palladian gatehouse built between 1750 and 1758, and the Admiralty buildings from the 1720s. Then he wondered what the lump at the end of the row could possibly be.
